The JBL Talk Bomb (Homemade Talk Box)
Thursday, March 25, 2010
What I did here only cost me $4 + a few household items. My Ghetto talk box (I have named "Talk Bomb" since it looks to me like the last thing i want to take on an airplane) has a 3.5 inch JBL speaker inside that I salvaged from a set of computer speakers I got from Value Village for only $2.99. The Speaker (still connected to original PCB which has volume knob, 3.5mm audio input and DC12v power outlet) is housed between 2 mixing cups from a Magic Bullet. I sealed it airtight with hot glue and cleaned up the look with a few raps of black electric tape. I also added a new big knob.
The hose is 1/2 inch out diameter from Home Dept. and cost about $1. I drilled out a hole for it and sealed that airtight with hot glue also. I will post a video soon of it in action, it sounds kick ass great!!!
STEAMPUNK GAMEBOY NOW ON EBAY!!
Monday, March 22, 2010
If you know me, than you know I cant hold on to my own work for very long. I feel that it will be much more special to someone else. Took me a while to let it, but alas, the Steampunk DMG is now on eBay. Help me spread the work on this so I can be sure it will go to a good home (that is, unless you plan on bidding yourself, then by all means ... shhhhhh)Check the auction out HERE, bidding starts at only $9.99 and as always, ships free to the US. I will probably be adding some free gifts later in the auction too.

MONSTER DMG MOD!
Wednesday, March 3, 2010
Just about everything you will ever need to rock out and look good while doin it. see full gallery here. This Gameboy has it all, from pitch mod to half clock speed option. This is the end result of a DMG I sent to my buddy Mute City, I have been making him a butt load of custom NES labels for his cart repros. instead of paying me with a copy of the carts he is making (because I just play them on my powerpak anyway) I asked him to do me a pitch mod and half clock mod all in one (somthing I never seen done before) because i was too lazy to do it, and he needed to pay me anyway haha. After I got it back from overseas shipping, the damn post office broke off (completely tore off the red toggle switch for the clock speed). So I opened it up and proceded to compltely rebuild it with new PCBs and all (since he also did an internal prosound which I changed my mind about later on)
While it was open, I tossed in a Nonfinite backlight and did a dual pro-sound (3.5mm and RCA options). I also swapped the plastic knob with a solid chrome knob from my fender jagstang.
Lastly I styled it with some custom decals. The gameboy decal is from a batch that Capcomposer had locally made to use for paint masking. I thought it looked cool on its own. Before I put the decals on I removed all the gameboy text with acetone.
AnamaNES!!!
