LSDJ Keyboard Guide UPDATE!!!

title.jpg

As some of you have pointed out, and as I assumed, there is a few other sets of wire colors out there. So I as track them down, I will add to this posting with easy to fallow color key images. And remember, any colors not seen below are not used and can be cut off.

ALSO, we can now confirm that DMG-04 cables will NOT work with this method, DMG-07 cables only.

For more info read the main tutorial

Here is a list of keayboards I know for sure in each chart (will keep this updated too, so please feel free to tell me if you find one in the colors from the charts below))

COLOR CHART 1:
HP Model# KB-0316
Fujitsu Siemens Model# KDW-205

COLOR CHART 2:
DELL Model# SK-8110
DELL Model# SK-8100

Colors are below:

  1. This is going to be very helpful! Thanks!
Btw... Can you post a list or link to some good "junk" keyboards (make and model#) that you know of, that definetly have that PS/2 connection/port?

  8. Hmm, This is a pretty old post now, so I doubt I'll get a reply, but...
I've got the second keyboard color combination. I soldered the wires together and the keyboard lights up, but there is no sound. I synced it with keyboard on LSDj, and that number that's supposed to change when the keyboard works, doesn't.
    Any help?

  9. start a new song... enter 0,0,0,0 for each channel on the song page. set new chains to 0... then hit start. LSDJ must be playing for sounds to work.

if that dont work, then maybe your wires are touching each other?

if nothing else works, then IDK what to say without actually being able to play it.

  10. Haha..Oops. Didn't realize the sequencer had to be going. Thanks, man.
I read that the "I00" is supposed to change to a higher number, but mine doesn't. Works though!

  16. http://chipmusic.org/forums/topic/404/xeros-lsdj-keyboard-tutorial/ - According to this tutorial I can use the DMG-04 cable for the keyboard modification, I'm just unsure what they mean by adding a 5v external power source and what I would need and how I would go about doing it. If anyone could get back to me ASAP on this I'd be greatly appreciative.

    Shaun.

  17. Is there a specific version of LSDJ that must be used for this mod to work? From what I've gathered it looks like the newer versions of LSDJ aren't able to sync to the keyboard, although they do still have the sync to keyboard function in the project menu screen. Is this true? And if so, what version of LSDJ would be most optimal for this mod?

  18. Nevermind, I've gotten my Hp SK 2960 working using Keyboard color chart 2. Thank you very much for the great tutorial!!

  19. Shaun or anyone else, the DMG-04 could be used if you follow Trash80's Flickr. The 5V connection is available from the port, the DMG-04 just isn't wired to carry it by default.

  20. I think that they should standardize that. I hate when you have to search for the design by Internet to fix a problems that you aren't the one to blame.

  22. I know this is a bit late to be posting here, but I wired up an HP SK-2880, and it works pretty well with 4.6.9. The only thing is it changes instruments on certain key presses (I think C, N, <, and a few others). Does anyone know what's wrong??? I made sure all the connections are strong and are isolated from each other.
